Maya is a Syrian student who was born and raised in Dubai. She is a Senior majoring in Business Marketing. She aspires to become a Corporate Lawyer in the future. In her free time, she enjoys socializing, reading, and baking. One of her favorite things to do is debate, which helped initiate her MUN journey. Her first MUN experience began in early 2019. Maya moved from being a delegate to becoming a chair, to hosting two MUN conferences as Secretary-General in High School, within a few conferences. She joined the AUDMUN team in her first year of university to spread the knowledge she has learned during her experiences to other delegates and interested members. She believes that MUN is not only a place to learn about modern-day global issues and politics, but it is also a remarkable platform to improve your public speaking skills, grow your network, and make lifelong friends. Maya hopes to make AUDMUN a once-in-a-lifetime experience for others, just as it is for her.
Alaa Arnaout, a Lebanese senior majoring in Psychology at the American University in Dubai, began her MUN journey in high school. She initially trained as a delegate but soon took on the role as the chair of her high school's MUN club, mentoring its members. Alaa also chaired The Arab League Committee during AUDMUN 7.0, served in the event department during AUDMUN 8.0, and now holds the position of Deputy Secretary General since AUDMUN 9.0. She is deeply passionate about conferences and event organization and hopes to provide an enjoyable and skill-enhancing experience for the attendees.
Talal Al Badareen is a sophomore Economics major at AUD, currently serving as the Under Secretary-General for the Department of Committees and Research at AUD Model United Nations (AUDMUN). Passionate about enhancing committee standards and fostering informed debates, Talal is also Treasurer of both the AUD Student Government Association and the Palestinian Cultural Club. Additionally, he’s a TEDx speaker and organizer for TEDxAUD, where he supports inspiring idea exchanges. Talal is very excited to see what this year's AUDMUN conference will bring and the meaningful connections it will create among delegates.
A passionate sophomore majoring in International Relations at AUD, Rima has embarked on an exciting journey with Model United Nations (MUN), participating in several conferences since high school. Driven by her love for diplomacy and debate, she has joined AUDMUN to ensure that every participant has an exceptional experience, drawing on her extensive expertise to make it a success.
Leen Rachwani is a Lebanese sophomore majoring in Business Economics at the American University in Dubai. She aspires to become a corporate consultant in the future and has participated in multiple business competitions throughout high school, which have sparked her interest in MUN. With her keen eye for detail, Leen decided to partake as part of the Department of Committees and Research in hopes of bringing forth attention to globally relevant topics to be addressed. She is looking forward to making this AUDMUN the best yet.
Baraah is an international studies major with a passion for debate, journalism, and politics. She has been deeply involved in Model United Nations, from organizing conferences at her high school to competing as a delegate. She’s driven by a commitment to help others connect with the issues they care about and to make sure their voices are heard.
Jad Merhi is a Lebanese senior majoring in digital production and storytelling and minoring in visual communications at the American University in Dubai. Jad started his political and public speaking interests in high school. That’s when he decided to join the school’s MUN club. This passion grew with him over the years and when he entered AUD, he joined the executive board team starting as a delegate trainer and now being part of the conference event organizers. Jad is extremely passionate about what he does and presents a lot of leadership skills when needed. Jad hopes to continue being part of the executive board, working side by side with an amazing team to ensure the best experience for everyone attending AUD MUN’s conferences. Hoping to inspire the youth to create their own legacies as we all did.
Shaden Zein is a Syrian-Lebanese freshman majoring in Business Finance, born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Passionate about pursuing a career in finance, she dreams of running her own firm one day by starting and leading a company in the financial sector. She has a natural talent for socializing and public speaking, qualities that made her a perfect fit for Model United Nations (MUN). She began her MUN journey in high school, serving as an admin in her junior year, where she played a key role in organizing and managing the event. In her senior year, she took on the role of chair, leading committees and acting as a spokesperson, showcasing her leadership skills and ability to handle high-pressure environments. Shaden credits MUN with teaching her invaluable skills in diplomacy, leadership, critical thinking, and confidence. Driven by a strong belief in following her passions, Shaden embodies the message: Never stop pursing what you’re passionate about, because that’s where you’ll find your purpose.
Ibrahim El Doukhei is a Lebanese senior majoring in digital production and storytelling at the American University in Dubai. This year, he began his career as a member of the Executive Board in the Media Branch since he genuinely loves taking pictures and communicating with people. Moving on, Ibrahim first participated in MUN in middle school. Although he never served as chair, Ibrahim was constantly involved in conferences as a volunteer or a delegate. He thinks his abilities in public speaking, communication, and leadership will be useful at the conference. He really hopes that his abilities and ability to work both alone and as part of a team will help to make this year's AUDMUN a memorable one.
Joelle is a junior filmmaker who enjoys capturing the world through a cinematic lens. She has a knack for transforming everyday moments into scenes that feel like they belong on screen. Whether it’s a simple interaction or a quiet landscape, she loves framing it in a way that tells a story and brings a fresh perspective.
Noreen is a digital production freshman at AUD. She has always been a media and film fanatic, growing up making vlogs and hopping onto trends on her little iPad. She has also had experience in MUN as a delegate and chair for 4 years, as well as the events committee.
Shahd Hodhod is an enthusiastic Egyptian sophomore majoring in Digital Production and Storytelling at the American University in Dubai. She embarked on her MUN journey in 2019 and ever since, has actively participated in numerous conferences, fueled by her passion for public speaking and communication. Growing up, Shahd developed a deep admiration for filmmaking and media, which drives her commitment to content creation and public engagement. Tania Khachek is a junior studying Interior Design, with a passion for creating spaces that blend functionality with aesthetics. Her journey in leadership and diplomacy began in 2020 when she participated in her first online Model United Nations (MUN) conference. This experience sparked her interest in global affairs and communication, leading her to attend her next MUN at Georgetown University in Doha, Qatar, in 2021. Tania's dedication and skills shone through at this conference, where she earned the Outstanding Diplomacy award for her exceptional ability to navigate complex discussions and build consensus. Now, Tania is eager to be a part of the design team, where she can put her communicative, creative, and people skills to great use. Lina Elzanaty is a sophomore majoring in Architecture at the American University in Dubai. Malak Kokash is a Palestinian senior studying Psychology. Her interest in diplomacy and international relations started when she joined MUN as a high school delegate. Malak is known for her clear communication and ability to create meaningful conversations, making it easy for her to build connections and work well with different groups. Her background in psychology, combined with her outgoing personality, helps her engage with others, understand their needs, and communicate effectively in any situation. Rifat Alghawi is a Lebanese second-year student pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree with a passion for aerodynamics aspiring to enter the motorsport industry. In addition to his academic pursuits, he is an avid sports enthusiast, actively participating in team sports. Cathlyn Nassif, a Lebanese junior majoring in Interior Design, has always had a passion for interacting, organizing, and leading. This love for communication and structure naturally led her to join Model United Nations (MUN), where she found herself drawn to being the point of contact with institutions and engaging with them through presentations and outreach efforts. She has extensive experience in leading clubs and academic chapters, which has enhanced her ability to manage events and engage with diverse audiences, and has also gained extensive experience in leading conferences, organizing events, and public speaking, which has only deepened her passion for MUN.
