Legal Committee (C6)

The Sixth Committee, also known as the Legal Committee, is one of six main committees of the General Assembly of the United Nations. It deals primarily with legal matters and is the primary forum for the consideration of international law and other legal matters concerning the United Nations.


1. Allowing the Republic of China (Taiwan) to become a Member-State of the United Nations and its Organs
2. Reforming the Voting Structures within the Security Council

About the Chairs

Maha Siddiqui

Maha Siddiqui is a Second Year Bsc. Psychology student at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai Campus. She has been a part of the Model United Nations for the past 8 years and has attended over 40+ conferences. As a third culture child, Maha has had the benefit of experiencing different cultures and different political views from all over the world. Politics and humanitarian affairs are one of her passions. She’s had diverse experience as a delegate, ambassador, chair, officer, and as a member of the Secretariat. In the future, Maha aims to work as a diplomat in the United Nations and hopes to make a change for the betterment of this world.

Hala Nasar

Hala Nasar, is a high school graduate planning to study Mass Communication with a minor in psychology at the American University of Sharjah. She has a profound interest in Model United Nations where she has shown expertise and considers it to be a place where she can freely express herself, open up to new views and perspectives and positively grow. Having been to many conferences and actively being a member of her school’s student council, Hala finds herself strongest in positions of leadership and thrives around successful people. She is intensely passionate about books, politics and writing and has a strong patriarchal sense towards her Palestinian roots. She is a true advocate of women and children and wishes to be an essential part of a humanitarian society in the future.
