This committee is dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. UN Women supports member states in setting global standards for achieving gender equality. It works globally to ensure that the “Sustainable Development Goals” are a reality for women and girls. The entity works to position gender equality as fundamental to the Sustainable Development Goals, and a more inclusive world.

Abhinav Nair is a Year 13 student from The Winchester School Jebel Ali, and has participated in more than 10 MUNs here in the UAE. As part of UN Women, he hopes to encourage lively debate in regards to issues that hinder the development of women and society as a whole. He hopes to be able to nurture the debating skills of delegates to create an enriching MUN experience for all, as well as sound resolutions that will be helpful in solving real world issues.

Jalal Kassab

Jalal is a student at Al Mawakeb School and is currently a member of his school's MUN club. He is really looking forward to chairing this conference as it would be a fun experience as well as providing more knowledge as to how things go in larger scale conferences and committees.

Haya Amer

Haya is a Junior industrial Engineering student at the American University of Sharjah. She is Syrian but was born and raised in the UAE. She has had many MUN experiences and has tried all positions multiple times but still is enthusiastic and is looking forward to the upcoming conference.
